It's a Monday

I did not get all the proofing and editing done over the weekend that I'd planned. But I made DH happy by taking him to Dietsch's, a hometown shop where the ice cream is made on the premises! It's amazing what a caramel cashew sundae do for a man's mood. I also made scallops and spaghetti in a lemon garlic cream sauce for Father's Day/Litha.

Today, I'm trying to finish the final proofing for the paperback version of A Barrel of Vintner. I thought I had a fairly clean manuscript when the ebook was published in April. Alas, I was wrong! But I'm trying to make things right!

Unfortunately, today was also the semi-annual dental exam. I'm always paranoid that the dentist will find something expensively wrong. But it was an observation that I had a LOT of caffeine staining on my teeth.

Hey, I admit I have addiction, but sometimes, I also need something to sip on when I'm going through a manuscript for the umpteenth time. Not even my own action-adventure stories can keep the eyelids open when the entire text is nearly memorized. And there in lies the reason for the caffeine. I need to be awake to smash the typos with my shoe!

(Not literally, but I view them as the spiders I do not want crawling into my mouth while I'm sound asleep.)

At least, I don't have to cook tonight since there's plenty of leftover scallops and spaghetti for dinner tonight.

Now, back to the proofing!

Dancing through the Fields of Editing

I completed the first draft of A Barrel of Vintner on Sunday. I shifted to editing Death Goddess Walking on Monday. And it's taking a little longer than I'd planned because I made a boo-boo.

My alpha reader finished consuming DGW nearly two years ago. Life matters became so crazy that I accidentally had corrections from the read-thru in two different files. *facepalm*

So I'm picking through the two files in order to integrate all the changes. Plus, I'm finding some typos I missed during the first two rounds of edits.

Hopefully, I should have things wrapped up on DGW today. Tomorrow, I need to finished writing the first chapter of A Sprout of Wild to be included as a teaser at the end of A Barrel of Vintner. Then I can go full-out on the edits for ABoV.

Soon, my gentle readers, you will have some new things to read!

A Justice Update

I didn't put up any pre-orders for A Cup of Conflict yet because I'm still editing. Damn, this is a long book!

I wish I could blame my slowness on Genius Kid being home on leave, but I can't. However, I can blame part of it on Darling Husband and the puppies because as soon as I put in my earbuds, one of them wants something.

At least the hubby doesn't need to be walked, though it's good to wear him out so he's not too rambunctious.

Anyway, this books may not have a pre-order after all, but I will have it uploaded to retailers by August 29th.

A New Week and a New Short Story

Good afternoon, everyone!

Things have been busy with editing and double-checking things for next week's releases. However, I was finally able to get some words written yesterday. I know it's cliche, but lately, I've had to get out of the house to get any significant writing done.

Unfortunately, being sick again last week did put a crimp in any actual words on the page.

To make up for it, I posted a new free short story called "The Fade". Let me know what you think!
