Justice: The Beginning Is Live!

The e-book version of Justice: The Beginning is now live. So if you need a little entertainment this weekend, check it out!

Blurb
For the first time, the Justice Anthea and Brother Luc short stories are collected in one edition.

This anthology includes “Justice” and “Diplomacy in the Dark”, previously published in Sword and Sorceress 28 and 30 respectively. A brand new story “The Perfect Partner” gives readers the infamous tale of the illicit lovers’ first cantankerous, and odiferous, case together.

And a fourth bonus tale set in the Justice universe tells how a young sister of Light became a secret bodyguard for a member of the Jing Imperial family.

Magic, mayhem and mystery has never been so fun!

Super super happy happy Gleeeeeee

*Sigh*

I really like the Balance stories. Have you written a short yet for when she first did the spell that changed her sight? As the story is referenced quite a bit and she tells it to Hua, it makes me want to read that scene to know more. Also (and I may have overlooked it) but do you have a short-list guide of the temples and what the main purpose of each is to the populace? Child is empathy, Balance is Justice - some of the others are a little harder to define and I'm not sure you've listed all twelve yet. Do you have a quick guide?

Thanks for the stories!

I'm glad you had a good day despite being sick, Dee. I don't have any kind of guide on the Justice universe yet, other than a legal pad full of scribbled notes to keep everything straight as I write. You're the second person to suggest a glossary, and my husband wants me to hire an artist to draw a map of the places mentioned. :)

But to give you a couple of tidbits:

The Temple of the Child does deal with mental/emotional health, but they also govern agriculture and animal husbandry. The Child is the deity who actually created the human race in their mythology.

The Temple of Thief deals with espionage and intelligence gathering, basically the dirty side of politics and business. During the demon wars, they were the spies for the human armies. Thief is funded through gambling dens they own and operate.

Will that tide you over for a bit? Hope you feel better soon!
