The Gigantic Drama of Political Intrigue in Jing

On the day I'm writing this post, I crossed the 63K line in word count. And A Cup of Conflict isn't anywhere near completed.

I knew this was going to be a complicated story. Even though she's acting as Issura's ambassador by escorting Quan Po home for his coronation, Anthea's caught in the middle of differing factions in the Jing Empire. Most of whom have no desire for Quan to continue breathing, much less ascend to the Dragon Throne.

But I'm also almost through what is essentially the Second Act, if this were a play. Which means this will be a 90-100K novel.

Therefore, I'm moving the release date for A Cup of Conflict to July 15, 2025.

I don't like the fact that I lost almost three weeks of writing time dealing with the Selket-damned basement, but that's essentially the 30K words I'm missing. *sigh*

However, I did promise I'd get this series done before I die, and I'm damn well going to do it!

Murphy Is the One True God

Dear Readers,

I'm so very disappointed to say that any new releases scheduled for 2018 will be delayed indefinitely. My body has run into a brand-new issue that necessitates a bunch of diagnostic clinic and assorted doctor visits.

What does this mean for the current books-in-progress exactly? I will continue to write in between various scans, the taking of bits of flesh and blood for assorted tests, and talking to medical personnel. However, my mind is not in a place to concentrate on the finer details of publishing, such as editing and marketing.

Once we know the extent of the issue and we have a treatment plan in place, I'll let you all know the revised release schedule.

In the meantime, blogging may also become sporadic for the reasons above.

I've Been Thinking...

Life's been a little crazy with the new addition to our household. Like a lot of writers who are parents, I'm looking forward to school starting in ten days.

I've been working on A Question of Balance over the last three weeks, and I'm almost done. But I may not release it right away.

Why? Because I think readers (assuming they liked the short stories) might want more than one novel. So I may wait and release all three novels at the same time.

As a reader, what would you prefer? In other words, read as soon as each book is completed or have a binge?

Curious minds want to know.

Is Vampires Chased by the Undead an Oxymoron?

I'm very sad to say this, but with only six days left in the month, much less the year, there's no way I'll have Blood Sacrifice out before the 31st.

I sincerely apologize to everyone who's been waiting patiently for it, but the last thing I want to give you is a substandard product.

Will it be out in 2013? Yes, definitely. Will it be out by the end of January? I'm doing my damnedest to make that happen. Luckily, GK is on Winter Break until January 21st. While that should give me plenty of time, I discover decades ago that any time I make plans, the universe likes to throw a new calamity into my face.

Keep your fingers crossed and rub your four-leaf clovers for luck!

What's Coming in 2012?

Well, I barely beat the calendar, but Zombie Wedding is available on Amazon and Smashwords. It was uploaded on Barnes & Noble at the same time as the others, but four days later, it is still not available.

In the meantime, I need to get crackin' on the 2012 releases.

Novels
Amish, Vamps & Thieves (Anne's story) is currently with my editor. I need to order props for the cover shoot. Assuming no major catastrophes, cover photgraphy should be done at the end of the month, and the book will be out in early February.

Blood Sacrifice (Phillippa and Alex's story) is outlined and the first two chapters drafted. Depending on family stuff over the summer (vacations, day jobs, etc.), I'm shooting for a fall release.

Novellas
Seasons of Magick: Autumn is half-way done. I'm hoping to have it completed and delivered to my editor by the end of February. If everything (meaning my life) stays in place, SOMA will be released in March.

Zombie Confidential is the short solo Sam Ridgeway adventure I'd planned for December of 2011. Needless to say, I didn't make it.  LOL I will finish it after SOMA, and it should be available in May.

In the meantime, I had my cover artist Sierra Acy re-do the cover of Blood Magick to match the covers of Zombie Love and Zombie Wedding. The revised cover version should be showing up on the retail sites soon.

The real pleasure of writing is knowing that people are reading and enjoying my books. Thanks so much for your support!
